Bogdan Luca is a Romanian-born artist and educator who splits his time between Toronto and Prince Edward County. Combining a background in animation and digital imaging with a studio painting practice, his work blends lived reality with dreamlike imagery, inviting viewers to reconsider the familiar through new perspectives.
Exploring interests in movement, fragmentation, and collage methodologies, The Crucible brings together studio and plein air paintings in an improvised arrangement. By physically intermingling these approaches, the exhibition explores painting as both image and object.
On exhibition until April 29th, 2026 in the County Arts Lab Exhibition Vitrines, outside Unit 2E, 206 Main Street (The Armoury), Picton.
About the Vitrines: Housed in two custom-made display cases, this new exhibition series aims to increase the public visibility of artwork throughout the year while creating paid opportunities for artists. Located in the Armoury Atrium outside the County Arts Lab, in Picton the vitrines will feature rotating exhibitions by County artists working in a variety of mediums. The program is made possible thanks to a multi-year donation to the Artist Fund.
