Prince Edward Community Theatre brings to life the iconic, heartwarming and bittersweet play Steel Magnolias by Robert Harling.
Steel Magnolias explores the strength, resilience, and deep bonds of friendship among a group of Southern women in a small Louisiana town. Set primarily in Truvy’s beauty salon, the play follows the lives of six women—each with their own quirks, struggles, and triumphs—who support one another through laughter and tears. At the center of the story is Shelby, a young woman with diabetes, whose determination to live life on her own terms deeply impacts those around her, particularly her strong-willed mother, M’Lynn. Blending humor and heartbreak, Steel Magnolias is a touching celebration of love, friendship, and the unbreakable spirit of women.
Directed by Bailey Mulridge, Steel Magnolias features PECT regulars Lori Farrington as Clairee, Cheryl Singer as Truvy, Lynne Donovan as M’Lynn and Jen Sills as Ouiser. Newcomers are Kat Burns as Annelle and Emma Woodman as Shelby.
Steel Magnolias opens on Saturday April 5th, 2025 at 7:30 PM. Evening shows at 7:30 PM on Wednesday April 9th, Friday April 11th and Saturday April 12th. Sunday matinees are sold out. All shows are held at Mt. Tabor Playhouse, 2179 County Road 17, Milford. Click here to purchase tickets.
