Solo Reflections II

Artscene February 2026 Edition

Solo Reflections II
Canadian cellist Juliana Moroz.

Canadian cellist Juliana Moroz is one of the nation’s rising stars and is currently a Rebanks Fellow at the RCM in Toronto. Presented by BIGLAKE Arts, this concert will explore the connections between Baroque music and Contemporary music, featuring the dark and powerful D-minor suite by Johann Sebastian Bach.

A curated selection of modern works that share a connection with the solo suite composed by the king of the Baroque era will be inserted in between movements, to create a complementary and contrasting menu. The deeply powerful and technically challenging solo sonata by Ysaÿe, a required work at the prestigious Queen Elizabeth Competition, will conclude the concert.

Please come and enjoy a rich 7-course musical meal, eloquently explained with facts and insights by Juliana herself from the stage.

Thursday, February 19th, 2026 from 5:30-7 PM at the Drake Devonshire Pavilion, 24 Wharf Street, Wellington. Concert sponsored by the Drake Devonshire. Click here to purchase tickets.
