2gallery presents Rhythm of Light, the latest collection of paintings from artist John Visser from September 4-27. John’s unique, mosaic, brushstroke style turns traditional subjects into impressionistic musings on the Canadian landscape. Upon close viewing, a dance of colour, texture and pattern – from afar an image of something more familiar and recognizable.
“The thing that attracts me to any scene is the ability of light to transform and make things look magical. I love painting in the early morning or late evening when the light has an amazing glow creating beautiful shadows. There’s always movement in the landscape from this light dancing on moving water, on leaves and grasses swaying in the breeze, and on clouds moving in the sky. I enjoy observing how amazing light and constant movement create a rhythm that’s almost musical in nature.” – John Visser
Opening reception (with limited capacity) on September 4 from 4-6PM. See the exhibition in person and online at www.2gallery.ca. COVID health protocols in place at the gallery.
