Holding On by Josh Connell, 2021, charcoal, winner of this year’s Art in the County Jurors’ Choice Award and Peoples’ Choice Award.

In his first solo show at the Parrott Gallery, emerging artist Josh Connell shares his talent for creating hyper-realistic graphite and charcoal drawings. This past summer, Josh had two of his works juried into Art in the County, with Holding On winning both the Jurors’ Choice Award and Peoples’ Choice Award. His second juried work, Paradise Lost, was the winner of the Maison Depoivre Award.

“The purpose of my art is to elicit thoughts, feelings and reactions from the viewer that are arrived at without further input from the artist. A relationship that exists strictly between the viewer and the work.” – Josh Connell

Meet Josh at the Opening Reception on September 1, from 6-7:30 PM. Reflections runs until September 28.
