Public Art

We are thrilled to announce that Prince Edward County Council recently gave the green light for County Arts, with the support of Municipal staff, to lead a public art planning process and develop a Public Art Plan for Prince Edward County! This fall, we are carrying out a variety of activities to engage as many community members as possible in the creation of a collective vision and strategy for the acquisition and management of public art in Prince Edward County.

PUBLIC ART WALKS

Join us for one or both of our upcoming exploratory Public Art Walk and Community Conversation events in Picton and Wellington! These events will be a fun and unique opportunity to collectively imagine a Prince Edward County bursting with vibrant, awe-inspiring, and/or thought provoking public art activations.

Together, we will explore how public art can impact our everyday moments and well-being. We will imagine bursts of colour on concrete, peek into the nooks and crannies and reflect from afar, ponder big public art questions, share stories of existing and past public art activations, explore potential future public art sites, and have some fun along the way. We will also be joined by some special guest artists!

After the walk, participants will enjoy some refreshments and have the opportunity to pin public art locations on maps and ask questions during an informal Community Conversation. Learn more and sign up to attend the Picton and/or Wellington walks at the links below – registering will help us make sure we have enough refreshments for everyone.

Picton Public Art Walk – Saturday October 14th, 10:30-12:30
Wellington Public Art Walk – Saturday October 21st, 1-3

Special thanks to the Picton BIA for generously sponsoring the Picton event!

HAVE YOUR SAY

We also invite all community members to visit the public art planning Have Your Say Forum – complete the survey and find out where and when you can find and engage with us at community events across Prince Edward County. Bonus – Upon completion of the survey, you will have the option to enter a draw to win a $150 gift card to an eligible Countylicious restaurant!
