Outliers: Artists Talking to the Archive

Artscene February 2026 Edition

Outliers: Artists Talking to the Archive
On display at the Wellington Heritage Museum from February 14th-June 14th, 2026.

All are invited to the Wellington Heritage Museum on Valentine’s Day for the launch of a brand new exhibition at the Wellington Heritage Museum – Outliers: Artists Talking to the Archive.

This new exhibition is co-curated by The County Museums and Gather in the County.

10 artists, working in textiles, have created pieces that respond to ‘outlier’ objects from the Museums’ collection. Some objects are ordinary, others obscure, but all have proven to be inspirational. Featuring artwork by: Kristy Woudstra, Lesley Thurston-Brown, Valerie Carew, Krista Dalby, Eva Ennist, Look-i-Like, Rachel Speirs, Megan Fitzgerald, and Lisa Reich.

Artifacts and artworks will be displayed side-by-side, encouraging visitors to spy the connecting threads between old and new.

Enjoy light refreshments and meet some of the participating artists at the opening reception is on February 14th, 2026 from 1-4 PM. This event is free to attend.

Wellington Heritage Museum, 290 Main Street, Wellington. The exhibition is on display until June 14th, 2026.
