Intermediate Drawing with Stew Jones is an introduction to drawing suited for those students with some drawing background, who are comfortable with the basic drawing principles and media (charcoal, conte, pencil etc.) and wish to further investigate shape, form, light + shadow and its application in observational drawing with exercises in still life and portraiture. Focus on developing confidence and comfort in skill-set will be a top priority throughout these workshops.
Each class will involve demos and drawing exercises focused on page dynamics, blind contour, and simple human anatomy lessons with respect to shapes + proportion, observational skills and line quality. Also foundations of light and shade with simple drapery studies. A safe and comfortable learning environment is key to developing trust and confidence in creative development. Critique and open discussion within the class will be welcomed and encouraged.
Students will supply their own materials. Workshops take place in person at the Baxter Arts Centre, Bloomfield on December 7 & 14 from 6-9PM. Drop-in rate is $50. To learn more, click here.
Also available on in December is Open Studio with Stew Jones.
