This past February, Vi Woo (they/them) and Hannah Fung (they/them) invited transgender and gender nonconforming (GNC) artists to submit work for Home & Belonging, in collaboration with The Radiator Collective, to share what it means to feel at home and to belong in a world that seeks to erase or marginalize trans identities. Visibility is essential in increasing the safety of the community and creating a safe space to gather in support.
The exhibition of submitted artwork will be held March 26th-April 13th, 2025 at The Proudest Pony in honour of Trans Day of Visibility (TDoV), recognized annually on March 31st. There will be an event held at the Proudest Pony on March 30th at 6:30 PM to recognize TDoV.
About the show organizers:
Vi Woo (they/them) works with multisensory art through a queer and disabled framework, highlighting accessibility, freedom of expression, and inclusion. Hannah Fung (they/them) is a interdisciplinary artist who explores themes of softness, rebirth, divinity and selfhood from a queer, trans, polyamorous, and neurodivergent lens. The Radiator Collective is a group who believes that community is stronger than individualism, with a focus on encouraging experimentation and learning without traditional restrictions or expectations that can be deterrents to the fluid growth of expression.
The Proudest Pony is located at 281b Main Street, Picton. For more information and updates, contact tdovhomebelonging@gmail.com or follow The Radiator Collective on Instagram here.
