The Parrott Gallery welcomes visitors in-person and online to two new exhibitions running until March 25.
Rejuvenate features fibre art creations from Kingston artist Linda Coulter. The exhibition will be held in Gallery One and online. Regarding her work, Coulter states: “It often starts with an old white sheet. Then a surface treatment is used. Techniques include dyeing, painting, stamping, rusting, screen printing, thermafax, or leaves and natural dyes are applied. Colour is added and the appearance of texture evolves.”
Garden Sanctuary features paintings by Rachel Harbour. The exhibition will be held in Gallery Two and online. About her work, Harbour states: “I have always enjoyed time spent in the garden. Though using plants and flowers as a subject for painting is not new to me, I have found in this time of isolation a renewal of my interest in them, and in the close observation of their components. I look not to copy, but to be inspired and calmed at the same time.”
