Field Notes
Featuring site-specific work from 15 visiting and local artists, each work in Field Notes responds to the land and the individuals who grow and care for the vines and each other.

Alchemy Artist Residency is proud to present Field Notes, a group exhibition at Base31 as well as at nine farms and vineyards across Prince Edward County, September 23-October 16.

Field Notes allows artists to collect, tell, and document stories showcasing what compels people to continue to create, grow, farm and live in the County. The result is an ever-deepening relationship and understanding between and among residents, farmers, makers, growers, seasonal agricultural workers, and artists.

Collectively and individually, the artworks examine themes of collaboration, labour, creative expression, food sovereignty, and community in a rural agricultural setting through textiles, installation, painting, drawing and sculpture. Field Notes 2022 offerings have been inspired by time spent and dialogue on the land, in the kitchen, and in the Wellington Heritage Museum.

Base31 gallery hours are Thursday-Sunday, 12-4 PM. This exhibition is a part of  Ontario Culture Days 2022.
