Belleville Frameworks presents Fate & Happenstance, an exhibition of work by Laurie McLachlan and Julie Seddon, two painters who connected in Prince Edward County in May 2024.
Their meeting, seemingly a blend of fate and coincidence, sparked a creative dialogue motivated by their shared passion for colour and their drive to create. McLachlan’s work embodies raw emotion and immediacy, while Seddon captures fleeting moments through the lens of photography and painting. The interplay of destiny and chance is evident in their respective processes, whether in the serendipitous alignment of reality and abstraction in Seddon´s work or the channeling of visual language within McLachlan’s emotional expression. Both artists’ works celebrate color and composition with the intention to communicate a sense of wonder and joy.
On exhibition until May 10th, 2025. 281 Front Street, Belleville.
