Bridging Communities is a large-scale art installation, where community members are using crocheted knit and fibre to cover downtown Belleville’s Upper Front Street Bridge. Over the past year, participants from Trenton, Picton, Belleville and Kingston have already created enough stripes, blocks and patterns to cover the Bridge’s pillars.
Open to adults and youth, experienced and beginner crocheters, families and friends, these crochet circles are hosted by local artist, Emebet Belete. All workshops are free to attend, and yarn is provided. Whether you’re experienced with crochet, or just starting, all are welcome to join as the community comes together to create and crochet.
Join crochet circles happening in 2025 at the County Arts Lab (Unit 2E, Picton Armoury Building, 206 Main Street, Picton):
February 10th & 24th from 1:30-3 PM
April 14th & 28th from 1:30-3 PM & 4:30-6 PM
