BIGLAKE 2024 Winter Concerts

BIGLAKE Arts presents three unique concerts at the Drake Devonshire for their Winter Concert Series! Look forward to starting each month with intriguing concerts that combine and explore different artistic languages. Tickets are now on sale for all three concerts.

Beginning with J.S. Bach’s Long Walk in the Snow on Thursday, February 8th at 5:30 PM, join CBC Radio personality and host Tom Allen and Friends for an adventurous and romantic evening of storytelling with glorious music. The stacked cast of brilliant musical friends will take you along Bach’s early life as a composer and performer.

Making one of its first appearances at Drake Devonshire, Três Pássaros (Three Birds) is a new project by Karl Silveira. Performing on Thursday, March 7th at 5:30 PM, the Pássaros Trio endeavours to explore innovative ways of bridging the rich musical legacies of Jazz and Brazilian music traditions, with the immediacy of the contemporary world. The band includes Karl Silveira on trombone, Andrew Marzatto on guitar, and Aidan McConnell on drums and percussion.

Rounding out the Winter Concert Series is Radia on Thursday, April 4th at 5:30 PM. Featuring new original works, catch Radia’s unique singular musical style, unifying his extensive classical training with loop pedal techniques. His music seamlessly blends various genres of music with percussive electronic sampling and multiple layering of catchy string hooks, resulting in a dynamic and unique creative voice.
