The Department of Illumination Artistic Company presents the Firelight Lantern Festival, a lantern parade that brings light to the dark autumn days of Prince Edward County! This magical parade runs from Picton’s Benson Park to Crystal Palace and features live music by Spencer Evans and the Goat Steppers, light installations and more!
Prior to the festival, a team of local artists will teach participants how to make their own beautiful, handmade lanterns to carry in the annual lantern parade. The last few free community lantern-making workshops will take place between November 1-3 in Baxter Art Centre, 3 Stanley Street, Bloomfield. The workshops are great fun for adults and kids alike, and all materials and instruction are provided. For complete list of times please visit www.deptofillumination.com.
Parade gathers at Benson Park, 375 Main Street, Picton on November 9 at 6PM, departs at 6:30PM.
Advance wristbands are $6 for adults, $4 for kids and are available at Kelly’s Shop, 197 Main Street, Picton. Door wristbands are $8 for adults and $6 for kids.
